歌いやすいマイク

今まで自分が使っていた、某欧州製のエミュレーションマイクのセルフノイズの大きさに辟易して処分し、こちらのマイクを購入しました。
商品が届いたときに、その段ボールの重さにびっくりしたのですが、とても丈夫なケースに入っており、その中にマイク、ユニット、ショックマウントなどが余裕をもって収納されていました。
使用感ですが、本当にセルフノイズが少なく、またダイヤル一つでFET?TUBEへの切替ができます。指向性もライトで表示されてわかりやすいです。
自分の歌を録音してみました。ユニットのダイヤルを回してマイクのキャラクターを変えて何テイクか録音してみましたが、本当に聴感変わりますね。シャキッとした音色から暖かい音色まで。それがわざとらしく変わるのではなく、本当に気持ち良い変化。音楽的とでも言うべきか。
今はまだ歌のみの収録ですが、これからギターや管楽器などの収録にも使ってみようかと思いました。
一点気になる点を書くとするならば、ショックマウントのネジが若干甘い気がします。マイクの重量がそれなりにありますので、もう少しネジがきちんと締まってくれると安心です。

柔らかく澄んだ音

都内の中規模ホールで開催した、JAZZピアノソロコンサートのライブ録音で使用しました。
ピアノはベヒシュタインB-210。
高域中域低域それぞれにLCT 940立て、アタックの強いハンマ直上を避け、弦から10cmのオンでセッティング。
ブレンドはTUBE100%、指向性はカーディオイドで設定。
ベヒシュタインの決して華やかさはないが柔らかく透き通った中高域、中サイズのコンサートグランドとは思えない低域の量感と倍音を見事に収録出来ました。
録り音は、暖かみのある澄んでいて、なおかつ広がりを感じる音です。
演奏のダイナミクスを生かすためEQ掛けず、リバーブを若干施す程度でミックスダウンが完了。
このマイクに限らずLEWITT製コンデンサーマイクは特質すべきセルフノイズの低さです。

歌うのが好きになるマイク

今まで自分の声が好きだなどと思ったことはありませんが、もしかするとそんな気持ちも変わるかもしれないと思ってしまうマイクです。チューブ全振りとFET全振りでキャラクターが全く違いまたそれをシームレスに調整出来るため、今までのマイクでは良くわからなかった自分の声に合う録り音、また声質の問題点、どう歌えば録音乗りが良いかなどを探りやすいマイクです。
チューブとFETで音質が全く違うと書きましたがそのどちらも一級品。マイク選びに悩むより、値は張りますが初心者こそこれを選ぶべき、ファーストチョイスとすら思います。
