・Pickups
The SRT system, highly praised by top professionals including Steve Lukather, delivers a realistic acoustic guitar sound, almost as if it were recorded in a studio. The pickup itself is a proprietary under-saddle piezo pickup with independent elements for each string, capturing string vibration more accurately. Separating the saddle and pickup element allows for easier string height adjustment.
Double-Action Truss Rod
The double-action truss rod, capable of applying force in both forward and backward bow directions, allows for more precise neck adjustment. Furthermore, the neck adjustment position has been moved from the conventional headstock side to the soundhole side. By eliminating the tunnel cutout at the rod adjustment position below the nut, the structure more reliably transfers the energy of string vibration received by the nut to the headstock and neck. At the same time, the truss rod cover on the headstock has been eliminated.
Extra Fret
The APX1200II's fingerboard has been redesigned so that a portion of the highest register protrudes into the soundhole. This style, also used on the original APX, allows for technical playing using the extra fret on the treble strings.
Wood Inlay Sound Hole Inlay
Instead of the conventional soundhole ring, the soundhole of the APX1200II is decorated with a rosewood abalone inlay. This design takes advantage of the rich vibrations of the solid wood top while exuding a serene, luxurious feel.

思った以上に満足

アマチュアアコギスト歴もそれなりに長く、いわゆるハイエンドなギターも数本所持しているものですが、決して恵まれていない環境でのライブが多いアマギタリストとしてはこのギターに搭載されているSRTピックアップシステムが気になって購入。想像以上によいサウンドを出してくれると思いました。エレアコとして使用するのであればマーティンやギブソンなどのハイエンドなアコギに高額なピックアップを後付するよりもよほど良い音がアウトプットできるのではないでしょうか。このギターに後は良質なリバーブを持参すればライブで、いつでもどこでも満足度80以上の音は出せます。好みはありますが私はそう思いました。生音も思ったより鳴ってくれます。価格なりに安っぽいところがあるとかMADE IN CHAINAとか、気にされる方には？というポイントはあるのかもしれませんが、きちんとヤマハ・クオリティは守られていますので、実用的なよいライブ用ギターを探している方にはぜひお勧めしたいギターです。デビューから四半世紀たっているデザインは音、見た目ともにやはり完成されていると思います。
