Here’s a list of items around 1,000 yen or below that are must-have items for guitarists and bassists

The essentials are things that you can never have enough of...I’m going to show some items that I personally think go well with guitarists’ and bassists’ main purchases so here we go!

CLASSIC PRO / CABLE BAND Cable Tie

I use these cable ties to organize cables. They are sold at 100-yen shops, but I think it is pretty rare to be sold individually in this price range.

ESP / NECK SET SIM 0.5

This is a useful item that can be attached under the detachable neck to give it an angle! It’s so cheap, but it works well. You can choose the thickness depending on how much you add to the string height.

CLASSIC PRO / Alkaline Battery 006P 9V Square CP9V ALK

Here is an alkaline battery at an amazing price. For those who play active guitars or basses, it’s a must-have item you can never have enough of.

DANELECTRO / DB1/E

You can buy this good looking zinc-carbon battery only at music instrument shops.

CLASSIC PRO / ASN221M Conversion Adapter

For those who play while listening through their headphones out on small amps and preamps!

MONTREUX / Hex Wrench 1/16"

This is a 1.58 mm hexagon wrench. It can be used to adjust the saddle screws in inches such as the screws found on Fender USA instruments! I often lose this. I think the size of this wrench is not sold at 100-yen shops, so it is a good idea to stock up on some.

■ 200-300 Yen Level

ESP / SPLIT SHAFT SPACER 1.5 mm

I recommend this for those who replace knobs! It is very useful when you want to install a side-screw knob to the split shaft pot.

Sumitomo Electric Fine Polymer / SUMITUBE F Φ10 Heat Shrink Tube

A heat shrink tube is useful when making cables yourself. It will not run out easily, but please consider buying it when you make cables! With Φ10, even a thick 4-core cable can easily pass through, so it is highly versatile.

MONTREUX / Kester 44 1.5 m [1475]

Desoldering Wick 1 m [1676]

These are a standard Kester 44 solder wire and a desoldering wick. Whether you are clumsy or not, it is a good idea to keep one just in case.

VISUAL SOUND / 1SPOT CYR REVERS

This cable converts the polarity to use with center plus effectors! It may be useful.

This is a Velcro strap for effectors selling for such a great value and I highly recommend it. It has a good reputation for giving effectors excellent stability on the pedal board.

Otsuka Brush Manufacturing Co., Ltd. / Brush 30 mm

This is really handy. You can quickly remove dust around the pickup and bridge without removing the strings. This will be something you will want to carry in your case along with a cleaning cloth.

FERNANDES / NAIL FILE-600

This nail file is from FERNANDES! I recommend it because it is compact, light, and easy to carry. I also like the design.

TONE / FINGER EASE Guitar String Lubricant Spray

This is a popular fingerboard spray! I quickly spray it on my hand before playing to get smooth movement on the strings.

EBS / PCF-10 Flat Patch Cable

This is a patch cable that is flat like fettuccine, so this needs no further explanation. It's light and durable, and I only use this patch cable. I recommend it.

■ 600-900 Yen Level

FERNANDES / Dr. Dry Humidity Control Agent for Musical Instruments

This is a large standard humidity control agent! It is a consumable item that has a surprisingly long life. It is a must-have item for humid summers in Japan. A set of 3 Dr. Dry is also available at a great deal. Be sure to check it out!

TOYOBO / MOISKEEPER SMALL Humidity Adjust Sheet

This item is antibacterial and deodorizing as well as moisture wicking and is antifungal. I’m curious as you can see its color effects.

MONTREUX ( モントルー ) / Pot Adaptor 8mm-3/8"(4)[9163]

This will be a useful item for those who are considering replacing the pot. The attached part to the hole of the Japanese pots have a diameter of 7 or 8 mm and pots in inches are 9.5 mm, but you can use this pot adapter to mount a pot in millimeters on a guitar or control plate with a hole in inches. With this item, I can enjoy replacing most of the knobs and pots because I don’t have to process the guitar body.

MONTREUX / ACETATE TAPE

This is an acetate tape that protects the coil of an uncovered pickup. It’s usually invisible, but if it gets dirty, you must replace it!

ESP / MS-10 MULTI SPANNER

This is a wrench that is useful for adjusting nuts. It is a multi-tool that can be used for 8-18 mm nuts and you will not regret buying it.

Dynaguide / Dynaguide Black String Guide

I picked this one not for its usefulness, but because I just wanted to show it to you. It achieves tuning stability by the whole new idea that the retainer itself can move. The one and only look is also good. I really like retainers, and I collect a lot of them even though I have nowhere to put them all.

■ 1,000 Yen Level

MONTREUX / Montreux Original Fret Guard [1033]

This is my favorite item that is almost 1,000 yen. I use this guitar/bass fret guard for my fretless bass. Since it is wide enough, it is good for your standard 5-string bass.
