Neumann is proud to announce the release of the Miniature Clip Mic System (MCM), a state-of-the-art clip mic system capable of satisfying the professional PA/SR or professional performer. The MCM is the only solution that delivers that “Neumann Sound” that every musician has experienced on the live stage.
These mics can be purchased and replaced part by part. Unit construction for long-term cost saving performance.
Clip microphones are used in harsher environments than the microphones that are used in studios, which are often in harsh temperature and humidity environments, and the MCM has a unit structure that is not only resistant to failure, but also facilitates continued use in the event of a failure. MCM is a generic term for a microphone system consisting of a lineup of parts such as microphone capsules, goosenecks, cables, clips, and more.

Clip structure and a wide lineup of installation in targeted locations
One of MCM's concepts is closed mic placement. In a live performance, it is more necessary to use an on-mic (closed mic) than in recording, but conventional clip mics have limitations in closed mic placement due to their structure.
The MCM has a high-memory gooseneck, and the clip that holds the gooseneck also has a rotary mechanism that allows the gooseneck to be attached in any position. The rotation mechanism locks every 45 degrees and will not move after installation. It is a microphone system that allows closed micing of any instrument.

< Clips other than MC 6, including MC 1 shown in the image, have a single-axis rotation mechanism that locks at every time it turns 45 degrees >
Clips for strings and piano have a single axis, but MC 6 clips, which can be used for brass and other instruments, have a 2-axis rotation mechanism that enables closed miking of various instruments as well as wind instruments.

< Versatile MC 6 has a 2-axis rotation mechanism that locks every 45 degrees for wind instruments and others. >
Select the clip that best suits your purpose from our extensive lineup of clips.

KK 14 capsule boasts a maximum sound pressure resistance of 153 dB SPL and delivers the Neumann sound in live situations
The only electret type condenser microphone capsule among Neumann microphones, yet it delivers that exact “Neumann sound”. Many musicians have already been attracted to it and introduced it for its soft sound.
Low to mid frequencies are optimized to be flat at a distance of 15 cm. The high frequency range peaks at 10 kHz and above, providing a clear sound on a live stage.

< Frequency response and polar pattern of MCM (KK 14) >
The KK 14 uni-directional capsule used in the MCM can withstand high sound pressure from wind instruments and drums despite its ultra-compact size, with a maximum sound pressure resistance of 153 dB SPL, the highest in Neumann's current lineup, making it ideal for stages where high volumes are expected. The KK 14 microphone capsule is the most powerful microphone capsule in the Neumann lineup.
The KK 14 microphone capsule is held in place by a shock mount on the SH 150 gooseneck, which effectively suppresses instrumental noise such as saxophone key noise.

< The SH 150 gooseneck and KK 14 are equipped with a shock mount mechanism. >
Sets available for purchase by musicians
Although the Professional PA/SR is suited for purchase by parts, sets are also available, ideal for performers. Sets are available with XLR outputs only. The set also comes with a special semi-hard case.
