8歳で父のレコードでジャズと出会い、11歳でコルトレーンに衝撃を受けジャズフリークに。16歳で吹奏楽でパーカッションを始めドラムに目覚める。その後一般的な人生を送るが、41歳の時に一念発起しジャズドラマーを目指す。以後リーダーライブを年間4本ほどのペースで継続。現在はプロの元週一でレッスンに通う修行中の身。
