Take your familiar microphone with you on the go
Many musicians, as well as YouTubers and other streaming creators, often use professional microphones equipped with XLR terminals to achieve high-quality sound. However, the reality is that such microphones are difficult to connect to mobile devices. Just to supply phantom power to a condenser microphone or secure an XLR terminal, you will need an audio interface equipped with a microphone preamp, and you will need a laptop computer to set up a system centered around them.

iRig Pre 2 is an analog-connected microphone preamp for mobile devices. Simply attach it to connect an XLR-connected microphone to your iPhone*, iPad, Android device, or digital SLR camera. iRig Pre 2 is the successor to the best-selling iRig Pre. While maintaining its ease of use, each part has been improved, such as the direct monitor function that allows you to monitor the input signal in real time and optimization when connecting a digital camera.

With iRig Pre 2, you can use any type of XLR microphone with your iPhone*, iPad, or Android device** for podcasts, YouTube recording, various live streaming, and Clubhouse distribution.

iRig Pre 2 can also be used as an external microphone preamp for digital cameras. iRig Pre 2 provides the simplest way to use a professional microphone in a mobile environment.

*Apple genuine Lightning - 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter (TRRS) is required.

Also equipped with phantom power

Condenser microphones are essential for high-quality audio recording. However, condenser microphones require phantom power to be powered. iRig Pre 2 provides +48V phantom power with two AA batteries (many other mobile preamps use 32V phantom power, which cannot adequately power a microphone).

Of course, if you are using a dynamic or ribbon microphone, you can turn off the phantom power and use it as a high-quality preamp. It can run continuously for 7 hours with phantom power on, and 20 hours with phantom power off.

Supports direct monitoring
The output signal of the connected device can be monitored from the 3.5mm headphone jack (stereo mini jack) of iRig Pre 2. By turning on the direct monitor function, you can also check the input signal directly from the headphone jack.

When recording or streaming, if you are using an app that does not allow you to monitor the input audio in real time, you can use the direct monitor function of iRig Pre 2 to check the input signal without any special settings.

iRig Pre 2 has a simple analog connection interface, so it can be used with most of the popular video and live streaming apps.
