Powerful pickup

The DiMarzio DP126 or Model PJ are strong and powerful bass pickups due to its dual ceramic magnets and steel poles. The steel poles can be raised or lowered to balance the output from individual strings. In addition the P and J pickups can be wired in series or parallel using a two-way switch （On-On）. Please see the DiMarzio webpage for series parallel wiring options. I installed this pickup set on my Made in Japan ’02 Bacchus Woodline PJ Handmade Series bass. Generally, series wiring has more output and louder. It has more bass and low-mid but less treble. This is really good for all types of music especially rock and metal. Parallel wiring has moderate output. It has lower bass and mid but more treble so its good for slapping and tapping. The series-parallel wiring is very useful. Both pickup are also very quiet in series and parallel wiring!

FenderJ エアロダインを換装

ブリブリした帯域が乏しかったのですが、こちらに変更したら余計なローはそぎ落とされブリブリした音になりました。
上の帯域はそこまで強調されないので、ビンテージサウンドではなくパワー系の音です。
ポールピースの高さが調整できるので、指板のRがあっても弦の音量ムラも対策できるのが良いですね。

音作りしやすい

もともとのピックアップに不満があったわけではないですが音のバリエーションをもたせたくて載せ替えました。

ディマジオのサイトに様々な配線図があるので自分の使いたい配線にすることができます。

自分はPにもJにもパラレル・シリーズのスイッチを追加しました。

ポールピースも上下できて細かいバランス調整もできて好みの音作りしやすいピックアップだと思います。

非常にハイパワーなPU

Fender Jazz Bass Specialに搭載しました。
元のPUは結構スカスカな音でしたが、こちらに変えたことでより低音感や音圧が出るようになりました。
ハードロックやメタル、ブルースロックなどベースをブリブリ言わせたいジャンルにはもってこいです。
サウンドはとても素晴らしいのですが一点気をつけなければならないのが、出力の高さです。
AmpegのSVT-450で鳴らした場合、一般的なPUだとGainを12時?13時ぐらいに上げて強く弾いた時にPeakが付きますが、これを載せると8時?9時くらいでPeakが付いてしまいます。
ライブやRec等で他のベースと使い分ける場合は出力の差が大きいので注意した方がいいです。
