■People often start with 2.5 (2-1/2, 2 1/2) or 3.0 (3rd).
■The tip of the reed is slightly thick, which gives it excellent durability and a rich tone with overtones.
■The vibrating surface of the reed, called the palette, is long and the center of the reed is not too thick, so the reed resonates well throughout.
■The ""JA"" in JAVA stands for jazz, and the ""VA"" for variety (entertainment music), which Vandoren calls ""JA.""
■The reeds are precisely processed and inspected to the nearest 1/100 mm.
■Each reed is individually wrapped in film in a plastic case. After opening, store the reed in a reed case (sold separately) to prevent distortion.
