■Analog synthesizer circuitry that breaks new ground in its class.
Four-voice polyphonic analog synthesis. The analog synthesizer circuitry of the minilogue, which made a huge impact with its authentic analog sound, has been further refined in the minilogue xd.

Configuration: 2 VCO + MULTI ENGINE, 1 VCF, 2 EG, 1 VCA, and 1 LFO. In addition to the series' signature circuits, such as wave shapes that shape the oscillator's harmonics and a sync/ring switch, the SR-1000 also features cross modulation, a sharp two-pole low-pass filter, and a drive switch that adds thickness to the sound. Every parameter has been meticulously tuned based on the series' products. The sounds cover a wide range of variations, from the warm pads unique to analog to fat basses and clear leads.

Of course, you can also save your own programs internally. A total of 500 programs can be saved, including 200 presets.

■Digital Multi-Engine.
In addition to the two analog VCOs, the multi-engine, which functions as a third oscillator, delivers the allure of digital sound. Equipped with three different sound generator types—noise, VPM, and user slot—this engine takes advantage of unique sonic characteristics that are different from analog, and by using it in conjunction with the analog engine, you can infinitely expand the possibilities of hybrid sound creation.

・Noise Generator
Four types of noise generator are essential for percussive tones and sound effects. Digital filters allow for direct changes in noise color.

・VPM Oscillator
A two-operator VPM (Variable Phase Modulation)/FM oscillator. It produces a metallic, sharp sound with complex overtones never before achieved with analog. 16 types of oscillator and a SHAPE knob control allow for intuitive creation of complex sounds.

・User Oscillator
The user oscillator allows you to load oscillator programs you've created yourself or found online. It offers 16 slots, including one built-in morphing wavetable oscillator preset.

■High-quality Digital Effects
High-quality digital effects with 32-bit float processing further refine the minilogue xd's sound. Three effects—modulation effect, reverb, and delay—can be used simultaneously, offering a wide variety of options, including chorus, ensemble, warm tape delay, and a variety of reverbs. You can also load your own effect programs into the user effect slots.

■User customization unlocks limitless possibilities.
The minilogue xd offers customization possibilities through its open environment. 16 user oscillator slots and 16 user effect slots are pre-installed for customization. Oscillators and effect programs created with the SDK (Software Development Kit) can be loaded into the unit via the dedicated librarian software.

What kind of sounds can be created by combining expanded digital oscillators with analog synthesis? Create original programs, share code, and join the user community. Start by trying out sample code provided by KORG.

■Polyphonic step sequencer controlled with 16 buttons.
The 16-step step sequencer supports both real-time and step recording. Direct selection of the 16 step buttons allows for quick editing, such as replacing or muting step sounds, or for impromptu performances. Furthermore, the motion sequence function stores up to four knob movements to add time-varying change to the sound, allowing you to store not only continuous value changes but also discrete values for each step. Since you can create and assign different sounds to each step, you can, for example, create drum patterns or sound effects from a single program, expanding the possibilities for use to your imagination.
