The MV50 is fully analog, down to the smallest details of the parts. All circuits, including the Nutube, are constructed with a huge number of analog elements. In addition, by equipping it with a special circuit whose operating point is constantly changing, the wonderful dynamic characteristics of vacuum tube guitar amps are reproduced. The MV50 is equipped with a low-heat, efficient class D power amp. This amplifies the sound without compromising the characteristics of the vacuum tube sound that is the core of Nutube. In addition, it even reproduces the load fluctuation characteristics seen in vacuum tube power amplifiers. This circuit is the very source of the dynamics of vacuum tube amplifiers, such as the fat drive feeling, delicate picking nuances, and quick response.

Small-sized cabinets tend to have weak low frequencies and emphasize high frequencies, which can sometimes give a cheap impression. When connecting to a small-sized cabinet, such as VOX's new cabinet BC108, you can select the DEEP mode of the EQ switch to correct the low frequencies while suppressing the high frequencies. In addition, the EQ switch also has a FLAT mode, considering the possibility of connecting to a large-sized cabinet such as one equipped with four 12-inch speakers. This makes it possible to obtain a sound that makes the most of the characteristics of the speaker cabinet without compromising the potential of the MV50.

■ Cabinet simulator is useful for line recording

The MV50 is also equipped with a line/headphone out, so you can connect it directly to a mixer or audio interface and use it as an amplifier for recording. Of course, it also has a cabinet simulator circuit that perfectly reproduces the airiness and characteristics of a cabinet. It is simulated in a professional recording studio through high-end microphones and vintage microphone preamps, including the miking techniques of experienced engineers, so you can instantly record with a professional sound.
