マットグレイの質感が新しい、ゼンハイザーHD500シリーズのミドルグレード・モデル HD579。
オープンエア型らしい音場の拡がりと中低域の暖かみを残しつつ、抜けの良いすっきりとしたサウンドが特徴的です。ボーカルは透明感があり、心地の良い上品さがあります。ボーカルやヴァイオリンなどの繊細なニュアンスを大事にして音楽を楽しみたい方にぴったりなサウンド。
デザイン面では、HD500らしい面影を残しつつ、随所に配置されたシルバーのパーツがお洒落。前モデルのHD598はアイボリー×ブラウンのカラーリングから、ヘッドホン好きの間で「プリン」と呼ばれていましたが、HD579はグレイ×ブラックなので「黒ごまプリン？」といったところでしょうか。。
新境地のゼンハイザーサウンドを楽しむには十分なポテンシャルを秘めたヘッドホン。発売されて間もないので、音質もデザインもこれから話題になりそうですね。
