This digital delay is designed to bring out the original sound, which is the original role of delay. The delay effect has undergone a unique evolution throughout history. It began with a period of trial and error using blank records, magnetic discs, and oil cans, followed by the era of tape echo using magnetic tape.

As expensive studio digital delays were being developed, analog delays using small, affordable BBDs became popular. At the same time, compact digital delays using various manufacturers' proprietary digital delay chips also became common.

Subsequently, as DSP chips became more widespread, high-performance, highly functional digital delays appeared. As these became popular in compact pedals, concerns arose about the ""demise"" of BBD chips. Many delay effects were produced using small digital delay chips, such as the PT2399, to replace BBDs.

Looking back, until the advent of digital delay, delay effects were constantly evolving in pursuit of higher sound quality. BJF focused on this.

What kind of delay effects did engineers of the past dream of? What would it look like if we were to express them using today's technology?

Despite the clear, pristine delay tone that was unheard of with pre-digital delay technology, the Sea Turquoise Delay somehow retains a vintage ""echo""-like resonance.

Digital delays that are too clear can sometimes stand out and distract from your playing. However, the Sea Turquoise Delay's delay sound, while possessing an overwhelmingly clear and crisp tone, always complements and complements the main part of your playing.

The unique texture of the Sea Turquoise Delay's delay sound, reminiscent of crystal-clear water, creates a delay tone that is not simply ""faithful to the original sound.""

You can also confirm that the Sea Turquoise Delay's sound is more than just clear by setting the F.Back knob high.

No matter how clear the water, light cannot reach the depths of the ocean. The Sea Turquoise Delay can repeat delays infinitely, but the tone gradually disintegrates as the repeats pile up, eventually transforming into a chopped-up, lo-fi sound after several hours.

It's not just a machine that reproduces the input sound; by adding a slight attenuation to the sound quality, it creates a natural, realistic tone with presence. This is a moment where BJF's unique sensibility shines through.

This sound quality characteristic prevents the delay from being too strong even with a clean signal, and when combined with distortion, it creates a sound that exquisitely adds three-dimensionality to the tone. Even with a short delay time, it creates an effect that makes you feel like there is a magnificent space lurking behind it. The Sea Turquoise Delay is an incredibly simple and compact delay pedal, but it contains a vast world within.

In addition, the LEVEL control, adjusted to achieve a maximum 1:1 ratio between the original sound and the delay, allows you to precisely adjust the delay level. By freely adjusting the delay level, you can achieve a variety of effects, from subtle reverberations to tricky playing.

By leaving the Sea Turquoise Delay on and varying the delay time with the DELAY control, you can create unique sounds. In particular, setting the F.BACK high and adjusting the DELAY creates a chaotic sound, as if a beautiful space suddenly distorts.

Setting the DELAY low produces a very short delay, like a doubling delay. Raising the F.BACK while maintaining the setting creates a continuous sound, reminiscent of glitches or tremolo.

The Sea Turquoise Delay is designed with a unique structure for a delay effect. This is a highly responsive delay pedal with a high dynamic range that captures the entire input sound. To achieve this sound, we also paid close attention to noise levels.

To enable the use of infinite repeats, the Sea Turquoise Delay features true bypass switching, which eliminates any residual delay signal when the effect is turned off.
Conversely, when the effect is turned on, the delay signal is muted and the delay is gradually added to the signal, drawing you into a new world of space.

The Sea Turquoise Delay also features a kill-dry switch, allowing for use in parallel effect loops, etc.
