The EKX Series has been added to the EV portable speaker family. It combines traditional EV sound with the reliability of the latest technology. A wide variety of system configurations are available to suit a variety of scenes and acoustic spaces.

Main Features of the EKX Series

■ The cabinet features a 15mm wooden enclosure with an EV-coated finish, resulting in a lightweight and compact design.
■ The subwoofer features a wide slot port and a low-distortion, high-sensitivity transducer. The 18-inch subwoofer achieves a peak output of 134dB SPL.

Mode: Choose from three presets depending on your application.
　　Music / Live / Club
　Location: Obtains EQ characteristics that minimize coupling effects due to installation location.
　　Normal / Cardioid
　Subwoofer: Sets the X-Over frequency when combined with a subwoofer.
Available in 80Hz, 100Hz, 120Hz, 150Hz, EKX Powered, ELX Powered, and ZLX Powered.
Linkwitz-Riley 24dB/oct crossover filters are used.
■3-Band EQ
Treble: High shelving EQ centered at 6kHz
Mid: Parametric EQ centered at 1.2kHz
Bass: Low shelving EQ centered at 80Hz
*Each band is adjustable from -12dB to +6dB.
■Preset Storage
Five presets can be saved.
・Temperature Management: Intelligent Thermal Management
Multiple onboard sensors adjust fan speed and manage the temperature of the DSP section.

　PA用スピーカーの憧れのブランドと言えば、Electro-Voice（エレクトロボイス）。今回おすすめしたいのが最新のEKXシリーズ。木製エンクロージャーならではの迫力があり、レンジが広く、ジャンルを選ばないサウンドが特徴です。SSTウェーブガイドデザインという最新技術は、高域と低域の伝達時間を調整するだけでなく、ウェーブガイド下にバスレフポートを配置することで、低域に深みを持たせ、スピーカー自体のコンパクト化、軽量化にも成功しています。フルレンジモデルは、メインスピーカーとしてだけではなく、フロアモニターとしても使えるエンクロージャーを採用しており、様々な用途にオススメです。ELXシリーズと違うところは、35mm径のスピーカースタンドマウント以外の設置にも対応しているところです。アイボルトEBK-M10-3PACK、トラスアダプターEKX-TCA、壁掛けブラケットEKX-BRKT12が用意されていて、天吊り、トラス、壁掛け

　パワードモデルには、ノブ１つですべてのコントロールができるQuickSmartDSPが搭載されています。用途、設置方法に合わせて最適な設定ができる「モード」（Music、Live、Speech、Club)、「設置方法」(スタンド、モニター、壁、吊下げ)に加えて、3バンド・イコライザーの調整により、簡単かつスピーディーなセットアップが可能です。細かい設定をする必要がない点は、誰にでも扱えるというメリットですね。設定内容は5つまで保存することができるので、使用する会場ごとのセッティングを入れておけば、時短化できます。EKXパワードサブウーハーのスゴイところは、カーディオイドモードがある点です。通常、サブウーハーの低域は全方向に広がるので、余分な低域が発生しますが、2台、3台を組み合わせることで、指向性を持たせ、正面のお客様に効果的に聴かせることができるんです。また、普通は複雑なセッティングが必要ですが、CARDIOIDモードを選ぶだけでできてしまうのだから、これはスゴイの一言に尽きます。
