■Major string manufacturers mechanize much of their manufacturing process, and the resulting products truly deserve to be called ""finished products."" However, R. Cocco Senior strings use only traditional string-making machines and high-quality materials, and remain stubbornly committed to the hand-wound method by artisans.
■Compared to the instrument itself, the quality and character of strings tend to be overlooked, and as a result, it is not uncommon for safe strings to be used. However, there is something special about strings that are carefully made by hand, with the utmost care and attention paid to each one, and they bring out the best in the instrument even more.
