The ELECTRO-HARMONIX / Q-TRON+ is an envelope filter developed in collaboration with Mike Biegel, founder and developer of Mu-Tron. While retaining the functionality of the original Q-Tron, it now features an effects loop. This allows you to add other effects between the preamp and filter sections, creating a wider variety of sounds while still retaining the filter sound. The addition of a Response switch allows you to adjust the attack speed of the timbre.

■The Q-Tron series is an envelope filter created through a collaboration between Electro-Harmonix and Mike Beigel, the original Mu-Tron founder and developer.
■The effects loop allows you to add other effects between the preamp and filter sections. This allows you to create unique filter sounds without changing the envelope drive. Unleash your creativity to the fullest.
■The effects loop allows you to connect other effects. The loop is located between the Q-TRON+'s preamp and filter sections and does not affect the envelope drive. Using the effects loop expands the sonic versatility and allows you to create a variety of sounds by using various effects. Many effects can be used with the envelope filter to create interesting sounds. For example, we recommend fuzz, light distortion, compressor, echo, chorus, octaver, etc. The switch on an external effector controls the ON/OFF of that effector, but the Q-TRON+ switch simultaneously controls the ON/OFF of the Q-TRON's own effect and the IN/OUT of the effect loop.

実はたった一つのスイッチだった...

P-Funkでは有名なParliament「Bop Gun （Endangered Species）」が好きなのですが、途中でワウの深さが変わります。
ベースのコーデルモッソン（ブーツィーではない）がどんなセッティングしてたのかずっと気になってましたが、このエフェクターで分かりました。
「Range」一つ捻るだけで、音色がギラギラに変わります。なんと単純！
レンジが広くて分厚い音から、パーカッションのような煌びやかな音まで出ます。ベース、リズムギターはもちろん、古い（アナログ）シンセにも使えそうなエフェクターなのでした。

エンヴェロープ・フィルターの決定版!

ここで買ったわけではありませんが、レビューさせていただきます。

良いところ
開発者が同じMu-fxのTru-tronの機能を完備しているうえに安い。
ゲインを適切に合わせれば反応が良い。ダイナミクスにしっかりと反応するのでもう飽きが来ない。
Responseノブを変えるとエンヴェロープの表情がガラッと変わる。
センド・リターンがあるので、ファズと組み合わせてシンセサウンドを作ることができる。この機能は（私の知る限り）これとWonderloveにしか無い。

悩みどころ
フィルターのレンジを2段階しか切り替えられないので、リズムマシンを使ったDJごっこは難しい。
エフェクトをオンにしない限り、センドにつないだエフェクトは使えない（これは当たり前か）。
Boostの度合はGainノブに連動しているので、音が大きくなりすぎる場合がある。
Boost機能はフットスイッチでオン・オフできるようにしてほしかった。

総合的に、どのエンヴェロープ・フィルターを買えばいいか迷ったら、迷わず「これ」だと言える素晴らしいペダルです。
