These flatwound strings feature Monel, a nickel-copper alloy, wound over stainless steel wire. Their mild, warm sound is ideal for jazz and fusion. The Monel wire has a smooth, non-grainy surface, resulting in minimal finger noise and smooth fingering. Resistant to acid and corrosion, they also maintain a taut sound for extended periods.
■ The core wire is made of hard, abrasion-resistant, tin-plated hexagonal steel. The windings are less likely to loosen, ensuring a long life and stable pitch. Furthermore, silk is wrapped around both ends of the string for increased durability.
