STAX / SRM-500T

The SRM-500T is the successor to the SRM-006tS and follows the STAX's traditional tube driver circuit while achieving improved power supply efficiency and better sound quality. It uses a low-noise DUAL FET in the first stage and a high-voltage 6FQ7/6CG7 twin-triode tube in the output stage, while a newly designed power transformer saves power and improves sound quality.

■ Adoption of a new chassis with improved rigidity
A new chassis with enhanced rigidity compared to the SRM-006tS has been adopted. The hybrid structure with extensive use of non-magnetic aluminium further suppresses the effects of vibration and other physical external noise.

■Input systems and convenient functions
The inputs are exclusive between RCA and XLR, with the custom-made dual-axis quadruple volume, common to all STAX products, and the parallel out function for RCA inputs, as in previous models.

■High-quality electronic components and DC amplifier configuration
The electronic components used in the STAX are designed with thorough consideration for sound quality, performance and the environment. The signal circuit uses a complete DC amplifier configuration with no coupling capacitors whatsoever, ensuring high purity sound quality.

Evolved sound characteristics
The clear, high slew-rate sound of the vacuum tube circuitry, with a warm and expansive sound, has been maintained, while the thickness of the mid-range and low frequency range has been improved. Offers new combination options with the Advanced Lambda Series (SR-L300/SR-L500 MK2/SR-L700 MK2).
