LA CHORUS is a vintage 80's style analog chorus pedal that uses the classic trademark tone, the BBD chip, to faithfully reproduce the warm analog chorus tone.

E.W.S. has been modifying the SCH-Z chorus pedal by adding true bypass, vibe mode, etc., and it has been well received. The LA CHORUS is based on the SCH-1, the “masterpiece,” and incorporates the modification functions of the SCH-Z and a wide range of tone variations. The signal that passes through the tone control is sent to the wet sound circuit. The LA CHORUS has separate tone controls for the dry and wet tones, allowing you to adjust the tone independently.

Only use a stabilized center-minus 9VDC adapter; never use an adapter other than 9VDC as it may cause damage.

同社が発売していたA社コーラスのモディファイ品が廃盤により入手が難しくなってしまった現在。数年掛かりの開発を経て完成し、発売されました。
近年ではコーラスはデジタルが多く、アナログのコーラスの選択肢は多くありません。そんな中での発売は値段の面も含めて歓迎したいところです。
この商品の良さは、まずボリュームが搭載されているというところです。クリーンだけで使いたいけど歪みとのレベルが合わなかったり、音量が上がりすぎて悪目立ちしたりと、音量に悩まされることも多いコーラスですが、これがあることで用途に合わせた音量で使用できるのはかなりのアドバンテージであると感じます。
次にトーンがドライとウェットで別設定できることです。これができることでドライとウェットの音の存在感が変えることができるので、ミックスの代わりに使用できます。また、歪みとコーラスを合わせると無駄な帯域が強調されがちですが、トーンで抑えられるためスタックしやすいです。
そして、あの名手が使っていたコーラスサウンドを感じられるところです。前述のトーンを使うことで、歪みとも合わせることができるのも魅力です。セッションでのバリエーションが増えます。以前のモディファイ品より若干揺れ感が強まった体感があります。
全体として同社らしい、ユーザーに寄り添った柔軟なコーラスであると感じました。
