The Fulltone Obsessive Compulsive Drive (OCD) is a very open-sounding overdrive/distortion circuit that, unlike other overdrives, has a very wide dynamic range...which means that the difference in picking nuances results in a more natural, wider distortion with less compression than a traditional diode-clip overdrive.

OCD achieves tube-like distortion through an unusual combination of overdriving a JFET op amp and hard-clipping a pair of MOSFETs in the second half of the circuit. Due to its large output volume, it can be driven much harder than a typical OD.
It also operates on 18V DC, significantly improving dynamic range and clarity.

One of the changes to the V2 is ``Enhanced Bypass,'' which buffers all dynamics by 0.3 to 0.06dB even with a small amount of gain by setting both switching FETs to A class and setting the FET for gain. No matter where you place it on your pedalboard, the sound remains consistent and has a positive impact on your sound, reducing stress on the pedal's hard clipping stages and improving both tonal and harmonic sustain. Additionally, a discrete 2N5457 JFET input section in a Class A configuration increases input impedance to 1 megohm (previously 330K) for improved dynamics. Equipped with an internal switch that allows you to select between the new features “Enhanced Bypass” and “True-Bypass”.

■Control
・Volume: Adjust the volume.
Drive: Turn clockwise for more distortion, or keep it below 10 o'clock for a cleaner sound or to boost the amp's input without changing the basic tone.
Tone: Turn counterclockwise for a smoother high-gain lead sound (with Drive knob set higher than 12 o'clock); turn clockwise for more cut and less compression.
・ON/OFF Footswitch: Switch to turn on/off.

■DC INPUT: Operates from a high quality regulated 2.1mm x 5.5mm plug 9-18VDC center negative power supply.
■BATTERY: Can be operated with a 9 volt battery.
*When replacing the battery, unscrew the screws on the left and right sides of the housing, separate the top and bottom of the pedal, and replace the battery.
