EARTHQUAKER DEVICES / EQD Time Shadows II

The Time Shadows was a collaboration between EarthQuaker Devices and Death By Audio, limited to 1000 units in 2020 for the U.S. market only, and now it is back with presets, expression functions, and a parallel EQD X DBA mode! The EQD X DBA mode has been updated with additional presets, expression functions, and a parallel EQD X DBA mode!

EQD mode is an envelope filter delay with sub-octave control; DBA mode is a filter that feeds back a multi-delay. And! mode, which was not in the original, is included as a ! mode, which was not included in the original. The modes work as a dual delay, repeating each other's repeats up and down while creating feedback. Each of the three modes on board has its own distinctive and different sound, but each other's mode has a wide variable range that can be used for any genre of music.

Pitch-Morphed Fuzz Delay Filter
The EQD mode allows the player to morph any performance into a space-jazz roar! If you want a stronger effect, a fuzz delay with a mysteriously rising and falling pitch will pass through the filter, radically altering the incoming sound. The Time Shadows input signal passes through a powerful digital distortion circuit, then a polyphonic sub-octave is added, followed by a delay, and finally a low-pass filter.
Pitch-Warping Dual Delay
The middle mode is a collaboration between the Pitch-Warping Dual Delay and the Pitch-Warping Dual Delay, which is a dual delay that will draw your signal deep into the depths of the earth with an energy beam that will reach heaven and destroy hell. This is a dual delay, and the repeats of each other repeat back and forth.
Multi-Delay Filter Remorphinator
In DBA mode, the signal passing through the multi-delay filter morphs from a frozen shimmer to an echo wandering through space.

Live/Preset Mode
Time Shadows has six presets that can be saved and recalled at will. The settings of each knob, Mode switch, and expression pedal assignments can also be saved.
Presets
Time Shadows has two modes, distinguished by the color of the Save/Recall switch: Live mode produces the sound as set by each knob and does not affect the stored Preset settings. The Save/Recall switch is lit red. Switching between Live and Preset modes is very easy, and allows you to instantly bring up and play the tone of your choice without having to squat down and operate the pedals with your fingers!
Assignable expression pedal
The TRS expression pedal can be used to externally control Time, Span, and Filter!

Controls
Time: This is the delay time setting.
Filter: This is the most interesting control on Time Shadows! The DBA side controls the bandwidth of the filter and the phase point of the signal being phased. In the middle mode, the Filter knob acts as a mix knob for the EQD/DBA.
Span: This knob sets the delay repeat's
