Catalinbread Naga Viper MkII is a booster that brings the Range Master, known for its use by many legendary artists, to the present day.

Battery-powered: 9V battery
■Controls: HEAT, RANGE, BOOST, ATTN.
HEAT: Can be thought of as a gain control. Turn it to minimum for a classic treble booster response and a dirty boost. When turned up high, the more distortion you create, the stronger the sound. This is most effective when connected to a clean amp rather than a distorted amp.
BOOST: Adjusts the output level. You can make the output louder to make the circuit sound hotter, like an “abnormal” value. Noise is produced when the knob is moved, as in the original model, but this is normal.
RANGE: This controls the amount of low-frequency input to the boost. When set to maximum, the tone is similar to that of the original treble booster, lowering it increases the range, and setting it to minimum gives a full-range boost.
ATTN: Abbreviation for “attenuate,” this setting is used to effectively use the treble booster when the signal is saturated or has strong high frequencies in the front stage of the Naga Viper MkII.

■Power supply: 9-18VDC center negative or 9V battery.
Operating at 18V provides more headroom.
