The Studio JTM is a studio or live amplifier with a classic warm sound and low volume tube drive. Like the original 30 Watt JTM45, the Studio JTM features two ECC83s in the preamp, two 5881s in the power amp and a single ECC83 in the rectifier tube, taking you back to that time when rock history was about to begin.

A 100W amp head with a British rock sound. Each channel has two gain modes. The Vintage Gain channel can be switched between clean and crunch, making it ideal for classic rock from the 60s to 70s. The Hot Rod Gain channel can be used for sounds ranging from the perfect 70s to 80s hard rock to even more distorted sounds.

The JTM also offers the same ease of use and versatility as vintage Marshall amplifiers, and linking the two channels opens up a world of sonic possibilities that only tubes can offer.
The power switch allows you to choose between 20W or 5W output at a moment's notice, and the two inputs let you choose how loud you want to play. A DI out and FX loop have been added for modern specifications.

ロック黎明期のサウンド

ベースになっているのは、Mark IIと称されるモデルのようで、フロントパネルを覆うホワイト・クロス、かわいい「Marshall」のコフィン・ロゴも勿論完璧に再現されており、ルックスも余念がありません。
肝心のサウンドですが、SV20より更にクラシックな音色です。歪み量はフルテンでもクランチに届くか？という程度ですが、色気たっぷりで艶があり、かつ、暖かい音です。
Blues、Jazzにはもってこいな印象ではあるものの、ペダルで軽く歪みを足したRockなサウンドも最高です。
私は主にGibsonギターのユーザーですので、使用するチャンネルはHigh Treble一択ですが、Fender系シングルコイルのギターなら、チャンネルリンクで鳴らすのも全然アリです。
一つ注意点なのですが、このアンプ、鳴らすキャビネットを選びます。所有している他のStudioシリーズのCelestion V-Type 12インチやVintage 30 12インチが載ったキャビなどで鳴らしてみましたが、どうにもしっくりきません。恐らく、このヘッドは、マッチング・キャビネット以外のキャビで鳴らす事を想定していないように感じますね。可能であれば純正キャビか、Creambackのようなウォームな音色のもの、それが難しいのであれば、ヘッドではなく、いっそコンボの方も選択肢に入れた方がよいかもしれません。
