The ULTRAWAVE is not just a drive/tremolo pedal, but also an envelope and LFO, with a synthesised ‘multi-band processing’ method at its core, where the input signal is split into multiple frequency bands and effects are applied individually, By combining multiple routing options with stereo inputs and outputs, ULTRA sounds that go far beyond the limits of effects are created.
Multi-band processing: the ULTRAWAVE can split the input signal into up to 10 frequency bands with 37 different band-splitting options. In addition to the 10 bands, there are 2, 3, 4 and 8 bands, each with different band-splitting options. The frequency range can be matched to a variety of instrumental frequency bands. It can also function as a conventional distortion or fuzz if the frequencies are not split.
Compressor/expander: the compressor allows you to fine-tune the Input Gain, Threshold, Ratio, Attack, Release and Output Gain while checking the graphic monitor on the editor. The Dual Channel function allows specific frequency bands to be compressed separately and can be placed either before or after the distortion block.
Distortion Types: a library of 44 distortion types, ranging from traditional distortion types to SOURCE AUDIO's Chief Engineer Bob Chidlaw's Foldback distortion with endless possibilities.
Multi-band Tremolo: In addition to individual distortion settings for each band, the ULTRAWAVE also allows you to set individual tremolo effects for each band. The tremolo effect for all bands is controlled by the same master LFO, but the phase (start point) of each band can be set individually. The setting pattern can be selected from pre-set presets in the pull-down menu.
LFO: The LFO controlling the multi-band tremolo can be selected between a ‘Sine’ (sine wave) and a user-configurable ‘Attack/Release’ waveform. The LFO waveforms are ‘Attack’, ‘Release’, ‘Shape’, ‘Shape’ and ‘Release’, The LFO waveform changes dynamically depending on the interaction between ‘Attack’, ‘Release’, ‘Shape’ and ‘On Time’ (when ‘Sine’ is selected, ‘Attack’, ‘Release’, ‘Shape’, ‘On Time’ and ‘On Time’ are selected), ‘Attack’, “Release”, “Shape” and ’On Time ‘ do not function).
EQ: 8-band EQ and low-pass/high-pass filter with morphing support; adjusts the final tone shape of the ULTRAWAVE and can be set on/off for each channel and preset.
Morphing: This unique feature allows you to set two patterns in the distortion block and graphic EQ and switch between them seamlessly. Switching can be done using LFOs, envelopes or external devices (e.g. expression pedals).
Envelopes: morphing is controlled by a simple two-control envelope of sensitivity and response speed.
Stereo input/output: completely different presets can be created and routed in series/parallel or output from separate outputs. The stereo option also applies to multiband tremolo. Create stereo ping-pong and tremolo effects using the channel 1/2 sync option or the phase offset control.
