PASSIVE/ACTIVE switch means you don't have to worry about distortion even when connecting an active bass, and you can switch to ACTIVE when using an effect with a passive bass and the sound is too loud. XLR DI output, foot switch for CLEAN/DRIVE switching, and FX LOOP allow you to connect a separate spatial effect.
