ORIGIN EFFECTS / BASS RIG Super Vintage

This is a bass preamp that reproduces all the nuances of the Ampeg SVT and 8x10 speaker cabinet in a compact size. It has a D.I. out.

■GET CONNECTED
INSTR - Inputs bass or other instruments.
AMP - Connects to an amp or power amp.
DI OUT - Connects to a mixer or interface.
9VDC - Connects to a 9VDC 2.1mm (consumption 150mA) center minus power supply.

■MATCH THE CONTROLS
HORN CUT - When using a cabinet that has a tweeter, setting the HORN CUT switch to 2K or 4K will give you a smooth overdrive and protect the tweeter.
LF - This controls the low-frequency range and can be used to suppress the boominess of large cabinets or thicken the sound of small cabinets.
HF - Controls the mid-high and high frequencies. Perfect for fine-tuning the effect of the HORN DUT

■SHAPE YOUR VOICE
The tone controls affect the characteristics of the overdrive as well as the frequency.

TREBLE - Turning clockwise makes the overdrive brighter and more aggressive. Turn counterclockwise to smooth out the sound.
MIDRANGE—This allows you to cut or boost the mid-range at three different frequencies. Cutting the low frequencies, especially with a clean sound, will give you a clear, articulate tone. Boosting the high frequencies with an overdriven sound may cause feedback.
BASS: Turning clockwise will add depth to the low frequencies while turning counter-clockwise will make the sound thinner and more articulate.
Tip: For overdriven sounds, turning the BASS setting down will improve tightness and clarity.
ULTRA HI/LO CUT - ULTRA HI adds extra high frequencies to the preamp. This effect is reduced as DRIVE is increased. LO CUT cuts the extra low frequencies from the preamp. This helps to clarify the low end when overdriven.

DIAL IN YOUR OVERDRIVE GAIN
This changes the sound from clean to overdrive, just like turning up the volume on a classic amp without a master volume.

BLEND IN YOUR DRIVE BLEND
Turn clockwise to add a dry signal (clean signal) from the bass guitar. This maintains articulation when using overdrive.

DI OUT - The balanced XLR output provides an analog simulated line output of an 8x10 bass cabinet to a PA or audio interface.
DI CAB SIM switch—When this switch is set to the FX position, the cabinet simulator is driven only when BassRIG Super Vintage is on. In the FX + BYP position, it is always driven.
DI GROUND switch - Select GND if you only want to use the DI output. Select LIFT to eliminate hum noise in the ground loop when using both outputs.
