In addition to the standard stereo jacks, the Phonitor xe has balanced 4-pin XLR connectors for a wide range of headphones. 120v technology provides a massive audio output, allowing you to bring out the best in each headphone effortlessly.

If you prefer to receive outputs from the rear of the unit rather than the front face for cable routing, the Phonitor xe has the same jacks on the rear side. The outputs can be easily switched between the front-facing and rear-facing outputs with the F/R switch on the front panel.

The large volume controller with ■45mm has a very comfortable feel. In addition, the LED-based volume indicator beautifully guides the controller operation even in the dark.

■The volume control can be remotely controlled using infrared light. You can get creative operations with very simple settings. The affinity with the Apple Remote is especially high, and a comfortable listening environment can be obtained with a low investment.

Phonitor xe supports as many as six stereo sources, including XLR, RCA, USB, Coax, Optical, and AES/EBU inputs, making it a great match for the sources you already have. Xe is compatible with most audio input connectors. The Phonitor xe accepts most audio input connectors: XLR for balanced inputs and RCA for unbalanced inputs.

The Phonitor xe can also accept digital sources directly from a Mac or PC via USB, as well as professional AES, COAX, and ADAT formats.

768kHz DA converter. The AKM AK4490 converter chip, which delivers extremely beautiful tones, uses a newly designed architecture based on the know-how gained from the Phonitor2 and other products and is capable of 32-bit PCM playback at 768kHz, and DSD playback at DSD4 or DSD256 resolution. DSD sources can be played back at a high resolution of DSD4 or DSD256.

■120v technology: Digital sound passing through the DAC is passed through a low-pass filter before outputting in analog form. This process is applied to PCM and DSD with roll-off technology to guarantee sound quality in each format.

The two VU meters represent traditional visibility, allowing you to see the left and right input levels. The VU meters can be easily reformatted with a switch on the front panel, allowing you to see the input levels at your preferred settings.

The Phonitor xe has a unique left/right bias adjustment function that allows the user to center the sound image precisely. A mode switch allows the user to select stereo or mono playback, and a LATERALITY mode allows the user to check the center individually, left, and right sound sources.
