One Control / Honey Bee OD 4K Mini Standard

The One Control Honey Bee OD 4K Mini Standard is a new version of the legendary BJFE Honey Bee OD overdrive pedal, which laid the foundation for today's amp-like pedals, designed by BJF himself.

The B and T knobs provide individual and precise Control of low and high frequencies.
In addition, the miniature size allows for space-saving installation on different pedalboards.
BJF's years of research have made reproducing the original tone possible, even with mini-sized SMD parts.
Mini pedals are designed differently from conventional handmade pedals that use through-hole parts. Mini pedals are affected by "coast components" that do not exist as "parts" and do not appear in the circuit, so the sound will be different if the same schematic is used.
BJF has considered all influences, from the characteristics of the parts to the ghost component, to recreate the sound of the original BJFE pedal.

It is the perfect overdrive pedal for electric guitars and guitar amps set at about clean to crunch and works best with other effects and distorted amps to create a fat, warm, overdrive character.
In particular, its dynamics can be easily adjusted from clean to overdrive with the touch of a hand. Its overwhelming response has an old small amp's headroom and frequency response, making it sound like it was recorded with a small amp, even with a big one.
When connected to a clean amp, picking, and guitar volume can enhance expression with tone. For example, flat strings give a mellow tone, while round strings give an old-style light distortion.
Pushing a lightly distorted amp will reveal the characteristic overtone distortion of the combo amp. The tone is powerful, as if strongly distorted, even though the actual gain is not set high. In other words, it simultaneously delivers the power of a drive tone with increased gain while maintaining its core and penetrating power.
It can also be connected just before the amp and used like a preamp pedal that adjusts the overall tone and creates a soft response and a characteristic that lifts the low mid slightly.
The Honey Bee OD has undergone minor changes over the years of production. While the essential tonal characteristics remain the same, there are minor differences in characteristics depending on when the pedal was produced.
One Control offers a selection of both the original Honey Bee OD and the current Honey Bee OD sound.
VINTAGE mode is the sound of the earliest Honey Bee ODs. You can create a sweet tone with a distinctive high response and a mild, classic overdrive tone.
MODERN mode is the sound of the current Honey Bee OD, with a lighter gain than VINTAGE mode and a more comprehensive low-end output, mainly due to the different variable range of the Nature knob, allowing you to create tones for modern scenes.

■Controls
V (VOLUME): Adjust the overall volume; try starting the tone adjustment at around 12 o'clock.
D (DRIVE): Adjusts the intensity of distortion; at around 12 o'clock, you can control the distortion by applying a stronger or weaker picking action.
B (BASS): Adjusts the low-frequency range of the tone.
T (TREBLE): Adjusts the high-frequency range of the tone.
MODERN/VINTAGE: Switches between the early Honey Bee OD sound (VINTAGE) and the current Honey Bee OD sound (MODERN).
