One Control / Honey Bee OD 4K Mini Custom

The One Control Honey Bee OD 4K Mini Custom is a newly customized version of the legendary BJFE Honey Bee OD overdrive pedal, which laid the foundation for modern amp-like pedals, designed by BJF himself.

The Honey Bee OD 4K Mini Standard reproduces the sound of the original Honey Bee OD, but the Custom is a limited custom version with even higher gain and thicker sound, mainly in the low-mid range.

It has 4 knobs for more detailed tone control, and the B and T knobs allow you to control the low and high frequencies individually and accurately.

In addition, the mini size makes it possible to install it on various pedal boards without taking up space.

Thanks to BJF's many years of research, it has become possible to reproduce the original tone even with mini-sized SMD parts.

The design method is different between traditional handmade pedals that use through-hole parts and mini pedals. Mini pedals are affected by ""coast components"" that do not exist as ""parts"" and do not appear on the circuit, so the sound will be different if you simply make them with the same circuit diagram.

BJF has reproduced the sound of the original BJFE pedal by considering all influences from the characteristics of the parts to the ghost components.

This overdrive pedal is ideal for electric guitars and guitar amps set to clean to crunch, and works optimally in combination with other effects and distorted amps to create a thick and warm overdrive character.
Especially the dynamics that can be easily adjusted from clean to overdrive with the touch of your hand, and its overwhelming response with headroom and frequency response like an old small amp, you can get a tone like a small amp even with a large amp.

When connected to a clean amp, you can enhance the expression of the tone by picking and guitar volume. Flat strings give a mellow tone, and round strings give an old-style light distortion.

When you push a lightly distorted amp, the harmonic components peculiar to combo amps are distorted. The actual gain is not set high, but the tone is powerful as if it was heavily distorted. In other words, it simultaneously achieves the power of a drive tone with increased gain while maintaining the core and penetration of the tone.

You can also use it like a preamp pedal by connecting it just before the amp to adjust the overall tone and create a soft response and a characteristic that slightly raises the low mids.

■Controls
V (VOLUME): Adjusts the overall volume. Try starting to adjust the tone from around the 12 o'clock position.

D (DRIVE): Adjusts the strength of the distortion. At the 12 o'clock position, you can control the distortion by varying the strength of your picking.
B (BASS): Adjusts the low end of the tone.
T (TREBLE): Adjusts the high end of the tone.
MODERN/VINTAGE: Switches between the custom sound of the early Honey Bee OD (VINTAGE) and the custom sound of the current Honey Bee OD (MODERN).
