Overdrive featuring a natural sound that can switch the clipping diode.

The distortion of the Special Cranker's all-discrete circuit pushes the amp sound very naturally without significantly changing the character of the original sound. It's like adding a vacuum tube to a preamplifier. Single note notes create rich, harmonically rich sustain, giving chords thickness and crunch while keeping chords intact. It is an overdrive that has nothing to do with the muddy bass and the recession of the midrange.

Clipping diodes can be selected from germanium and silicon. The distortion in germanium mode is slightly soft, and the high frequencies are rounded. On the other hand, in the silicon mode, the high range is emphasized and the distortion is more modern and the output is high.

The Special Cranker supports voltages from 9V to 18V, and when used at 18V, it has a tighter bass, a glittering presence, and a slightly higher output. EQD President and Developer Jamie Stillman recommends using germanium mode at 18V.

* Regarding power supply
This product can only be used with a 9-18V, 2.1mm diameter center minus AC adapter. We do not recommend using a non-stand-alone or non-transformer power adapter as it may cause noise. Also, do not use a power supply that exceeds 18V as it may cause a malfunction.
