■Reactive Load
To get the warmth and rich harmonics you want from a tube amplifier, you need to drive the power amplifier at a certain volume. In home recording environments where it is difficult to play a speaker cabinet, dummy loads and speaker attenuators have been used as a solution, but the sound recorded using these products, which always have a constant impedance, will have a significantly different amplifier response compared to when connected to a speaker cabinet whose impedance changes with frequency, resulting in a sound that loses dynamics and harmonics.

The FRYETTE PL-1's reactive load has the same impedance curve as a speaker cabinet, and the amplifier will react reactively to the guitar frequency in the same way as when a speaker cabinet is connected. It is also equipped with a voicing switch that adjusts the frequency characteristics of the speaker cabinet, making it possible to arrange the sound character of the cabinet.

■Cabinet + Microphone Emulation
The biggest feature of guitar speakers is their frequency characteristics. While audio speakers reproduce high frequencies above 20kHz flatly, guitar speakers begin to gradually drop from 4-5khz and above. This characteristic is what characterizes the electric guitar sound, and it is clear from the fact that everyone has experienced at least once that a guitar directly connected to an audio system is far from the so-called ""electric guitar sound"".
The PL-1 is equipped with a cabinet + microphone emulator, which emulates the sound of the guitar sound output from the speaker cabinet picked up by a microphone. The microphone characteristics can be variably adjusted with COUNTOUR (mid-low range, mid-high range) and EMPHASIS (high range), and the AIR / BITE switch that adjusts the microphone setting for the speaker also helps with flexible sound making.

In addition, when connecting other cabinet + microphone simulations, or when using it for recording amplifier profiles using IR, it is also possible to output the amplifier characteristics directly.

■ Headphone out, program input, effect loop for headphones
The charm of a vacuum tube amplifier is accurately output to LINE even in an environment where the speaker is not (cannot be) played. It's a process that all guitarists desire, but have had to make compromises at some point.
