This is a high-resolution variable directional condenser microphone. It has both rich midrange and wide high range. It faithfully picks up the airy feeling of a hall. Each one is carefully assembled by hand by skilled workers at Sony Taiyo factory in Japan.

■A high-resolution side-address condenser microphone with a 2-way capsule configuration that uses a newly developed microphone capsule, achieving both a wide high range and rich mid-low range.

A wide range of sound recording from 20 to 50 kHz is possible.

Supports switching between unidirectional, omnidirectional, and bidirectional.

The newly developed microphone capsule for high frequencies achieves high reproducibility up to 50 kHz by reducing the thin and lightweight diaphragm and the acoustic impedance of the back electrode plate. The newly developed microphone capsule for low frequencies achieves high sensitivity by reducing the acoustic impedance of the back plate. A powerful and voluminous recording is achieved. In addition, polyetherimide (PEI), which has high strength and high insulation properties, is used as the insulating structural material for both high and low frequencies, after being subjected to high-precision resin cutting processing. The capsule case and back electrode are made of brass with high-precision cutting processing. High-precision assembly processing achieves high-precision sound recording with little distortion. In addition, the diaphragm vapor-deposited with 24K gold has been used to achieve high-purity sound quality.

■Inherits the ""anti-resonance housing structure"" adopted in the C-800G
The microphone case and chassis are made of zinc die-cast with a high specific gravity to ensure vibration resistance and vibration control. The microphone sleeve is made of machined aluminum, and the sleeve bottom is made of machined brass, and the structure combines dissimilar metals to eliminate muddy sound caused by unnecessary resonance and achieve clear sound.

These are manufactured by Sony Taiyo, a Japanese factory that has been producing them for many years.
