This pedal is incredible.

It was essentially developed to recreate Brian May's tone. Its sound is based on the AC30.

However, once you turn up the gain a little, you'll see that this is no ordinary ""Queen pedal."" While it delivers the tone of a British amp, its crisp sound is truly remarkable.

Its high resolution makes it easy to play and brings the guitar forward with clarity.

There's something special between the Vox AC30 and a treble booster. Hitting the AC30 with a treble booster produces a resonant, thumping sound. The midrange creates exquisite distortion, and the harmonics blend beautifully. Turning down the guitar volume further expands the distinctive Vox amp world. It's aggressive and roaring, yet simultaneously resonant and chiming. The Catalinbreaf Galileo MkII can create that convincing sound.

Brian May's tone has been studied by many players for many years. The combination of a Dallas Rangemaster and a Vox AC30 is the starting point, but it has been difficult for players without an AC30 or Rangemaster to achieve that sound.

The Catalinbreaf Galileo MkII has overcome this obstacle. This pedal combines the tones of a properly configured Rangemaster and AC30 to produce Brian May's tone.

The AC30's preamp circuit, with a JFET replacement for the vacuum tube, is also included in the Galileo MkII. A perfectly tuned Rangemaster-style circuit then connects to the preamp circuit. This is the secret to Brian May's tone. The two circuits interact with each other to produce a complex amp tone with a midrange jungle.

The three knobs - Gain, Tone, and Volume - create the basic tone, and the guitar's Volume knob acts as the fourth knob on the Galileo MkII. This is where the Galileo MkII truly shines. It's not just a superficial Brian May-esque tone. With the guitar's Volume fully turned up, you get that majestic lead tone, and with the Volume knob turned down, you get that distinctively dirty clean sound. It's that sound that doesn't seem clean, but is. When combined with a band ensemble, the characteristics of this pedal allow only the necessary frequency range of the guitar sound to come through.
