BeatStep is a versatile, portable pad controller. It can connect to computers and iPads via USB, hardware sound modules via MIDI, and analog synthesizers via CV/Gate. It can also be used as a standalone 16-step sequencer.

■MIDI Pad Controller/Step Sequencer

A compact, unique model that combines a general-purpose controller with a step sequencer.

As a pad controller, it can trigger clips in DAWs like Ableton LIVE, play drum applications like BFD and EZDrummer, and adjust parameters in real time using the knobs.

And the simple yet powerful step sequencer enables powerful real-time performance.

Not only is it unique in its functionality, but its wide range of connection jacks is surprising given its compact size. Connect to analog synthesizers using CV/GATE, connect to an iPad or computer via USB, and connect to digital devices via MIDI. Use it as a controller to adjust parameters in real time or play with the sequencer, for endless possibilities.

■Main Features

・As a Step Sequencer
In sequencer mode, each pad functions as a step in a sequence. The corresponding encoder knob adjusts the pitch of each step. Up to 16 sequence patterns can be stored and instantly switched between. Sequence data is output simultaneously via MIDI, USB, and CV/GATE, allowing you to control a wide range of equipment, including analog synths, computers, and MIDI hardware.

As a Drum/Percussion Controller
The 16 pads are velocity- and pressure-sensitive, allowing it to be used as a compact percussion/drum controller with excellent dynamics. Various parameters can be assigned to each encoder knob, making it excellent as a real-time controller.

As a General-Purpose Control Surface
Each pad can be assigned not only MIDI note numbers, but also control changes and program/bank changes. With 16 encoders, 16 pads, and 16 preset memories, it offers a wide range of uses for live performances and studio applications. It's also recommended for DJ performances. Connect it to an iPad via the Apple Camera Connection Kit to instantly create a highly portable, ultra-compact music creation system.
