■ High-rigidity, lightweight aluminum is used for the housing. Unwanted vibrations are suppressed, resulting in bright, clear mid- and high-frequency sounds.

・A newly developed diaphragm achieves maximum mobility with minimal edge width. Furthermore, it achieves the same dome area as a 16mm driver unit. Maximizing the effective diaphragm area achieves high sensitivity.
・Uses a 300kJ/m3 high-magnetic-force neodymium magnet, the same size as a 16mm driver unit, and a long voice coil that is longer than conventional voice coils and stabilizes the ground connection with the magnet. The highly linear drive system achieves high sensitivity and low-distortion acoustic characteristics despite the compact size.
■ Beat Response Control
・Ports (vents) on the housing control airflow resistance in the low frequencies. Optimizing diaphragm movement improves low-frequency transient characteristics and accurately reproduces rhythm.
■ Comfortable and Secure Fit
- The miniaturized driver allows for angled earpieces. The earphones fit deep into the ears, improving sound insulation and delivering both a comfortable fit and high-quality sound.
- Hybrid earpieces combine two types of silicone with different hardness. The hard core maintains the shape of the sound passage and prevents sound quality degradation due to tip crushing. The soft outer material improves the fit to the ear, providing a tighter seal and ensuring a comfortable fit even for extended periods.
■ Tangle-Resistant Serrated Cord
- Fine grooves on the cord surface reduce friction, a major cause of tangling. When used in conjunction with the cord slider, they effectively prevent tangling, ensuring comfort during listening and carrying.

このMDR-EX450は、比較的中高音域に特化したモデルになります。外見は、小型で無駄の無いシンプルな形状。柔らかくフィット感の高いイヤーピースを使用しているので、耳の奥まで装着することができ、遮音性も十分。軽量なので、長時間の使用も快適に行えます。ケーブルは、従来のものとは異なりコードの表面に凹凸のあるセレーションコードを使用。バッグに入れていたらケーブルがぐちゃぐちゃに絡んでしまったなんてことは、イヤホンを使っている方ならよくあることかと思いますが、このケーブルでは、そういったからみを防ぐことができます。

音質としては、中高音域に特化しているため、クラッシックや女性ボーカルの曲がきれいに聞こえる印象があります。また、低音もしっかり出ているので、低音から高音まで幅広く楽しみたいという方にお勧めです。アクセサリーは、ポーチとコードアジャスターが付属し、コードの長さ調節や持ち運びも簡単。価格以上の性能を持ったコストパフォーマンスに優れたモデルです。
