* This unit cannot play audio data stored on a microSD card.
■ Using Fostex Audio Player (free software) makes high-quality file playback even easier.

コンパクト・音質優秀・光デジタル入出力

FostexではHP-A3が継続して販売されており、最近HP-A3 mk2が出ました。HP-A4は存在感はマイナーですが、音質的には先代のHP-A3を大きく上回ります。小型でUSBバスパワーなので使い勝手もすばらしいです。
既にオーディオインターフェースを持っている方が、追加のDAC・ヘッドフォンアンプとして導入してもいいと思います。光デジタルは入力に加えて出力もあるので、オーディオインターフェース側の拡張性を潰さずに導入することも可能な点も秀れています。

期待以上でした

HP-A3とどっちにするか悩みましたが、DACチップがバーブラウンということでA4を選択しました。
macbook→HP-A4→アンプ→スピーカーで視聴しましたが、想像以上の高音質でした。
最初は固めの音がしますが、時間が経つにつれ低音が増していき、音場が広がっていく感じです。
電源（バスパワー）を懸念してましたが、なにも問題は有りません。
古いmacに繋いでみたところ、音飛びがありましたが、これはPC側の性能の問題だと思います。
