Variations

The Superego Synth Engine samples and synthesizes the notes you play, creating infinite sustain. You can hold sounds and layer them together. You can glisse a sampled note into the next note to create a portamento-like effect, or layer sounds one after the other. It also features an effects loop, allowing you to apply additional effects to the Superego's effects.

■3 Modes
・Momentary Mode: Freezes (keeps sounding) the sound only while the foot switch is pressed. The fade-in/out of the frozen sound can be adjusted with the SPEED control.
・Latch Mode: Layers more sounds with each press. The volume of the sound before layering can be adjusted with the LAYER control.
・Auto Mode: Detects and freezes single notes or chords. The fade-out of the frozen sound can be adjusted with the SPEED control.
■Controls
・SPEED/LAYER: Depending on the mode, you can adjust the fade-in/out of the frozen sound and the volume before layering.
・GLISS: Adjusts the speed at which the frozen sound transitions to the next sound.
・DRY: Adjusts the volume of the dry sound (without the effect).
・EFFECT: Adjusts the volume of the effect sound.

残響系、フィードバック的シンセペダル。

EHXのサイトにあるBill Ruppert氏よるデモ動画、アイデア満載ですね。

でも実際は手元に届いて使用するまで謎が多いペダル。値段も安くはないし。

ギターで試奏、シンセサイズされた出音は中広域の部分が強調され、Ebowみたいにフィードバック的な音。和音もそのまま連続音で出る。アタックとリリースを適当に設定、ドライを０に調整すればシンセのように。

例えばAUTOで好みのポルタメント、リリースを設定、ドライ多めでエフェクトを小さめにすればコードに合わせてパットシンセがなっているような感じ。

ただし、AUTOの場合はある程度音量が無いと反応しないので繊細な演奏は工夫が必要かと。

シンセ、キーボードなどはノイジーなゲートリバーブのような効果に。やはり弦楽器が一番綺麗な効果が得やすい様です。

扱いに慣れるまで時間はかかりますが、単独使用よりも他のペダルと組み合わせることでいろんなことが出来そうです。
