■There's no other solution to noise than HUSH. HUSH has been the most well-known noise reduction standard for over 20 years. HUSH PRO is its professional model. With 1/4"" phone and XLR inputs and outputs, it's suitable for a wide range of environments, from console inserts to instruments. Setup is simple, and it eliminates noises like hiss and crackle. With a dynamic range of 105dB and 72dB of noise reduction, it's suitable for a wide range of applications, including recording studios, stages, and guitar systems.
■HUSH When set properly, the PRO reproduces faithful sound without compromising the original sound, even when removing noise. HUSH is a single-ended noise reduction technology that combines dynamic filtering and low-level downward expansion.
■ In many cases, when an instrument is being played and sound is being produced, the instrument's volume (level) is higher than the noise, making it inaudible. However, when the instrument is not being played or the sound is attenuated, the noise becomes noticeable. HUSH removes noise through a complex application of downward expansion, a circuit that attenuates small signals. Specifically, signals higher than the THRESHOLD level are output at unity gain (the same level as the input signal). Then, as the signal attenuates and falls below the THRESHOLD level, downward expansion begins to kick in, further attenuating the output signal, making the noise inaudible.

For example, if the THRESHOLD is set to 0dB and the guitar signal is attenuated to -10dB, the output signal will be reduced to approximately -12dB. The guitar signal will then be further attenuated to -20dB.
HUSH The PRO is equipped with an IN/OUT switch (bypass) and an operating level selector switch, making it compatible with any sound system. It's also ideal for guitar systems, as it can cut noise without compromising tone. It features the company's unique V.I.R. (Variable Integrated Release), which automatically optimizes the release of the downward expander. The V.I.R. circuit ensures that when the guitar's decay is slow, the downward expander also operates slowly, and when you suddenly stop playing, such as when muting the guitar, the downward expander also stops suddenly. This means that it can cut noise without compromising the nuances and tone of your playing, as with other noise gates.
