VOCU's 3-Mode Distortion distortion pedal lets you choose between three clip parts: diode, op-amp, and LED. It offers a rich, RAT-like sound with a wide range of distortion from high to low frequencies. Set the High-Cut knob to Min to get ultra-high frequencies. A versatile distortion pedal.

■ This distortion pedal allows you to select three clipping components (electronic components used to create distortion): a diode, an op-amp, and an LED. While the distortion produces a RAT-like sound, its unique filter function ensures a wide range of output, extending to the high frequencies, rather than just the mid-boost of the RAT. It also eliminates the common distortion problem of distortion but lack of bass, resulting in a fat, rich distortion pedal with plenty of harmonic content.
■ Because it does not use a fixed filter, setting the High-Cut knob to Min allows for ultra-high-frequency output. In environments where feedback is not a concern, it can produce an incredibly thrashy sound. Normally, you should raise the High-Cut to a level that doesn't cause feedback.
□Three Distortion Modes: DIO/LED/OA/
■The Diode (DIO) distorts at an amplitude just under 2 volts, making it the clip part that begins to distort the earliest. The sound is somewhat flat, but its asymmetrical distortion gives it a slightly distinctive overtone character.
■The LED distorts at an amplitude of around 3V. Its symmetrical distortion gives it a cohesive overall sound. It sounds the thickest of the three modes.
■The Op Amp (OA) uses the full operating voltage. It distorts at an amplitude just under 9V when powered by a battery, and at just under 12V when connected to a 12V power supply. It has a wider dynamic range than the other two modes, making it a clip part that can also control picking nuances.
