■High-quality scratching with MP3 files stored on a USB device
The top panel is equipped with a USB input terminal (Type A). In addition to music CDs, you can now scratch MP3 music files stored on USB memory, HDDs, etc. with high-quality sound. With wide support for a variety of media, you can DJ using your favorite music library.

■ Freely control DJ software without a control disc
The CDJ-400 can output on/off information for almost all buttons (functions) and slider position information to an external device. This means, for example, that by connecting the CDJ-400 to a computer, you can freely control DJ software such as Pioneer's DJS or SERATO's Scratch Live without a control disc and play music files stored on your computer. The CDJ-400 can also function as a general-purpose MIDI controller, controlling MIDI-compatible PC applications other than DJS.

■Scratch Jog Effect
In addition to standard scratching, the CDJ400 features three ""Scratch Jog Effects"" (""BUBBLE,"" ""TRANS,"" and ""WAH"") that deliver aggressive performances. Enjoy a variety of scratch sounds previously unavailable at home.
The effect buttons are now illuminated, making the currently selected effect mode easier to see.
