List of equipment required for Home Recording

Introducing the equipment you will need when you start Home Recording. We have selected models that provide high cost performance.

①Audio interface

This is the core of your equipment for Home Recording. Inputs microphones and musical instruments, and outputs high-quality sound to headphones and speakers.

②DAW software

An abbreviation for Digital Audio Workstation, software for recording, editing, and mixing songs and performances. You can also enter MIDI rhythms and synths. There are various software programs available depending on the genre and purpose.

③Microphone (either a condenser microphone or a dynamic microphone is acceptable)

You can use condenser microphones and dynamic microphones.

④Microphone cable

XLR (female) -XLR (male) microphone cable connection is common.
* You may not get sufficient volume when connecting with an XLR (female) -phone (male) cable.

There are different types depending on the application, including boom microphones, desktop microphones, and arm types.

⑥Headphones

When recording with a microphone, closed headphones are recommended to prevent the sound of the headphones from being recorded by the microphone.

⑦Monitor speakers

For home recording, "powered" speakers that can easily output sound by connecting to the output terminal of the audio interface are the mainstream.

⑧Equipment cable (audio interface-powered speaker connection)

Be sure to check the terminals as they may differ depending on the speaker and audio interface you have.

⑨MIDI keyboard / MIDI controller

A convenient device for playing software sound sources on a PC / Mac and inputting MIDI data. There are keyboard types and pad types.
* Unlike electronic pianos and synthesizers, MIDI keyboards do not have a built-in sound source, so it is necessary to connect them to a computer on which software is installed.
