RADIAL/SGI (Set) is a studio guitar interface system that allows you to play while monitoring the actual recording sound. It is a passive type that provides a transparent sound that is faithful to the original sound.
■ Place your amp in the booth and play in the control room without loss (approx. 100m).
■ 100% discrete Class A circuit (SGI-TX) for transparent sound that's faithful to the original sound.
■ 100% passive (SGI-RX) for natural sound quality without degradation or change.
■ Unique Drag control (pickup loading) reproduces the sound of a direct connection to the amp.
■ Isolation transformer for noise reduction.
■ Durable 14-gauge steel body.
■ Book cover design to protect switches and connectors.
■ Full bottom pad for non-slip and insulating properties.
■ Used by Aerosmith for recording and tours.
Placing your amp in the booth and playing in the control room is not uncommon these days. Playing in the control room allows you to monitor the actual recording while you play. This also facilitates smooth communication with band members and engineers.
Connection Example: Playing from a remote location requires a long cable. However, guitar signals (especially those with passive pickups) are unbalanced, and using long cables can be susceptible to external noise. This can significantly degrade sound quality.
Long Cables, No Problem: The SGI eliminates this problem, allowing use over distances of up to 100 meters without any degradation in sound quality. The Drag control allows you to achieve the sound of connecting your guitar directly to an amplifier, maintaining a natural tone.
Note: The SGI is a set product that includes the SGI TX and SGI RX.
Use on Stage
This convenience can be used for purposes other than recording. Using it between the guitar and pedalboard or between the pedalboard and amplifier on a large stage dramatically improves sound quality, even in large systems. Both the SGI TX (transmit module) and RX (receive module) are extremely durable, making them suitable for world tours.
Drag Control
When an instrument is connected directly to an amplifier, loading occurs between the amplifier's input and the pickup. This loading has a significant impact on the tone created by the combination of instrument and amplifier. The Drag control recreates this relationship. Even when using a buffer, it reproduces the sound of a direct amplifier connection.
