This treble booster recreates the Orange Treble & Bass Booster, made in the late '60s. Its thick, sparkling sound was popular in '70s rock and progressive rock. It uses the rare OC76 germanium transistor, making it ideal for boosting the crunch of tube amps.

■The OR Booster is a faithful reproduction of the circuit diagram of the Orange Treble and Bass Booster (likely manufactured by COLORSOUND), produced in the late 1960s. It was favored by famous players such as David Gilmour and WISHBONE ASH. At its maximum setting, it produces a punchy, glassy midrange, while turning it down slightly produces a more bass-heavy tone. When paired with a good tube amp, it can produce the impactful sound heard on PINK FLOYD's ""Umma Gumma,"" ""Meddle,"" and even ""Dark Side of the Moon."" Andy Powell and Ted Turner of WISHBONE ASH are also fans of the Orange Booster, as can be heard on their ""Argus"" album.
