■ MUSES High-Precision Volume Control IC Employed
The HP-AMP employs Nisshinbo Microdevices' flagship series, 'MUSES,' electronically controlled volume IC. Its unique control program, which optimally combines gain and attenuation, ensures maximum signal-to-noise ratio across all volume ranges.

In addition to simple attenuation like typical volume controls, the gain range is also optimized according to the signal level. While avoiding excessive amplification, it consistently achieves high-purity signal transmission from the high line levels of professional audio equipment to delicate headphone monitoring.

The sound quality and localization remain unchanged at any volume setting, maintaining perfect level matching between the left and right channels. Furthermore, because it lacks physical contacts like variable resistors, it avoids crackling and contact failures due to aging.

It achieves a high level of accuracy, quietness, and long-term reliability required in delicate monitoring environments.

■ "Active ZERO Impedance" for Perfect Headphone Driving

The circuit board uses 70μm thick copper foil, twice the standard thickness. Furthermore, the seamless pattern design minimizes ground impedance to the absolute minimum.

The L/R independent design with two power modules completely eliminates power supply-related crosstalk. Additionally, film capacitors that do not produce piezoelectric effects (ringing) are used for power supply bypass. The unwavering, robust ground and crystal-clear, silent power supply create a perfect stage for accurately reproducing audio signals.

■ Commitment to Beyond Specifications
To maximize sound purity, the HP-AMP incorporates numerous innovations that cannot be fully described by numbers (specifications) alone.

One of these is the unique "Direct Contact Mount" technology.

In typical SMD (Surface Mount) systems, the connection between component electrodes and the circuit board pattern is made by a solder layer. While electrically rational, the HP-AMP goes even further. The main amplifier ICs are hand-mounted, maintaining a tight bond with the circuit board, and employing a structure where electrodes make as direct contact as possible.

Furthermore, the DC offset is meticulously trimmed to a level of 0.00mV. Unwanted current noise from the DC component is eliminated, achieving a background space that can be described as "complete silence" during silent periods. This silence is not merely a matter of low noise; it is a crystal-clear stage where only the music signal purely stands out.

We also paid meticulous attention to the power supply bypass capacitors. Commonly used multilayer ceramic capacitors exhibit a piezoelectric effect, and physical vibrations can manifest as minute electrical fluctuations. Because this can contribute to sound distortion and a sense of noise, the HP-AMP employs film capacitors to avoid this effect, eliminating unwanted components caused by vibration.
