The Prussian Blue Reverb Revival 15th Anniversary is a limited edition model that commemorates One Control's 15th anniversary and recreates the original design of the popular Prussian Blue Reverb.
●Prussian Blue Reverb
The reverb effect simulates the gentle reverberation that occurs when sound is produced in a space.
Whether it's an electric guitar, electric bass, or other electronic or acoustic instrument, all sounds are affected by the reverberation of the space before they reach the ear.
The best performance an instrument can deliver is when heard from a special seat in a spacious, space designed with ideal reverberation in mind.

Prussian Blue Reverb is a reverb effect designed to create that ideal reverberation. Various reverb systems have been created throughout history to create this reverberation. From dedicated reverb rooms to plate and spring reverbs, and even digital reverbs...the historical evolution of reverb effects has been driven by the pursuit of the ideal reverberation.

Today, digital effects technology has advanced, making it easy to simulate historic reverb effects. These simulations are very useful if you're looking for the sound of classic albums from the past. Furthermore, unique new effects that incorporate new ideas into reverb effects can also produce stunning results.

Prussian Blue Reverb is different from those historical simulations and effects derived from reverbs.

BJF developed this pedal with the aim of creating the reverb that players truly desire when playing guitar or bass.

Rather than a rich, powerful spring reverb or a dreamy, octave-up reverb tone intended as an ""effect pedal,"" we sought the ""ideal reverb tone"" that would maximize the instrument's potential by being left on all the time.

The Prussian Blue Reverb is a reverb pedal that stores BJF's custom program on a 24-bit, high-quality digital chip. Of course, the dry signal is analog-dry-through, never converted to digital.

The ideal reverb tone for guitarists and bassists is neither ""spring,"" ""hall,"" nor ""room,"" but a combination of the characteristics of each, creating a neutral, understated reverb with a strong presence.

If we had to compare it, it would be closer to a hall than a spring reverb, but without the overly bright tone of a hall reverb.

Randomly modulating the decay time of the reverb signal creates a spatially diffusing sound, despite being a mono effect. This random modulation is programmed to closely resemble the string vibration characteristics of a guitar or bass.
This is a unique feature of Prussian Blue Reverb, different from conventional reverb algorithms that simply record and layer reverberations. It's natural and three-dimensional, yet not dull—the closest you can get to the ideal reverb tone players truly desire.

Furthermore, Prussian Blue Reverb has a dynamic range approximately five times wider than a typical spring reverb. Filtering is applied to prevent the sound from becoming too treble or oversaturating, especially in the bass, but as a reverb effect, its wide dynamic range creates an open, spatial characteristic.

At the same time, a DECAY control is provided to prevent the reverberations from interfering with the rhythm. The BJF-designed DECAY control goes beyond simply adjusting the reverb's typical ""reverberation length""—it's designed to easily create a seamless decay that matches your guitar tone. The decay time can be set from 2 ms to 2 seconds, allowing you to create sounds ranging from a subtle reverberation to a tone that lasts forever.
The precise DECAY control and overwhelmingly natural reverb tone are comparable to studio-class reverb units created using the best of modern technology. And yet, this reverb unit was designed specifically for guitar/bass.

The Prussian Blue Reverb's early reflections are set short. The short time it takes for the reverb to build up from the guitar or bass attack, along with its incredibly natural reverb tone, prevents any sudden, unnatural reverberation, creating the unique three-dimensional sound that spreads immediately after playing.

The Prussian Blue also has a KILL DRY switch that mutes the dry signal.
This is a feature found in many rack-type effects, but it's effective when connected to the parallel effects loop of some guitar amps and mixers.
Also, by connecting the Prussian Blue Reverb with KILL DRY set to the main signal chain, you can use it as a slow volume effect by setting the early reflection to a short duration.
