RELAXING WALRUS DELAY is a standard, easy-to-use delay effect that is essential for adding a ""powerful"" feel to your guitar playing.
The new RELAXING WALRUS DELAY offers easier battery changes than ever before, while the footswitch is positioned closer to the pedal for improved playability.
It also now features Animals Pedal's signature beautiful pedal design, making it even more beautiful.
While there are no major changes in sound or functionality, the overall range of tones has been expanded and fine-tuned to create the best sound for a wider range of amps and guitars.

The simple BLEND, TIME, and REPEAT control knobs provide all the necessary settings you need, allowing you to easily adjust the desired settings.
The delay time ranges from 1 to 500 ms, covering doubling, short delay, medium, and long delays.

The RELAXING WALRUS DELAY's delay tone is close to that of vintage analog delays, while also possessing the clarity of a digital delay. The exquisitely balanced tone can be achieved by adjusting the BLEND knob to create a natural, blending reverberation that blends with the original sound, or to accentuate it.

It also features self-oscillation, just like an analog delay, allowing it to cover a wide range of uses, from always-on delays to powerful, unexpected delays.

It's a useful effect pedal to have on your pedalboard.

Delay, also known as the echo effect, repeats the sound you play and mixes it with the original sound to create a sense of spaciousness and reverberation.

If you looked at this effect alone, you might think it's similar to reverb. In fact, it can be used in similar ways.

The key difference between delay and reverb effects is that the sound you play is repeated exactly as it is. This unique effect of delay can be a great help, especially for guitarists, to take your performance to the next level.

- Deep, smooth lead tone
When transitioning from rhythm backing to lead, it's common to switch boosters or distortions to make the sound louder or more forward. However, when you mix or record a band performance, simply turning up the volume can make it sound noisy and the lead may not sound as good as you expected. If you turn on a delay effect at the same time, the lead tone will gain depth, giving it a distinctly different presence from the backing tones. At the same time, the edges of the sound will be slightly rounded, creating a smoother tone that's easier to listen to. The key to this setup is to use a slightly longer delay time and fewer repeats.

- Always-on for smooth backing tracks
If you listen closely to the guitar sounds of professional musicians at live performances, you'll often hear a subtle delay effect. For example, the delay effect is effective when playing smooth backing tracks without cutting off the sound, even during long chord changes with long fret movements.
This is because it complements the sustain and creates the effect of the tone's tail end slowly fading away. Try reducing BLEND and TIME and setting REPEAT to a few times.

- Rhythmic and tricky playing
The delay effect repeats the input sound multiple times. This can be used to create deliberately tricky playing or rhythmic backing tracks. By setting BLEND high, REPEAT low, and carefully adjusting TIME, you can create dotted eighth-note delays and delay-based harmonies without using a multi-function digital delay.

Self-oscillation
Self-oscillation is a phenomenon in which the sound produced by a delay effect grows louder and louder as the REPEAT setting increases, producing a distinctive, shriek-like sound.

By adjusting TIME, you can change the pitch, timbre, and rhythm of the oscillating sound. Furthermore, by playing guitar or combining it with other effects, you can create a world of chaos.

To stop self-oscillation, simply lower REPEAT to naturally fade out the chaotic sound.

The footswitch is true bypass. It is powered by a 9V battery or a standard center-negative DC9V adapter.

Designed by Australian surf artist Jonas Claesson.
