Upper octave fuzz pedals first gained attention at the end of the 1960s. While still in development, octave fuzz pedals gained popularity thanks in part to legendary guitarists, but it wasn't until the 1970s that octave fuzz pedals themselves evolved further.

The velvet-clad octave fuzz pedals of the 1970s were a defining feature of the pedals. In Oct,3 Foxes talking of dreamy FUZZ was born from pedals that maintained that intense, clear sound.

If you simply recreated the octave fuzz pedals of the 1960s and 1970s, the sound would be too strong and reminiscent of the era. It would also make the pedal itself more difficult to operate.

The Animals Pedal maintains the basic tone of 1970s octave fuzz pedals, but refines it slightly and improves operability.

It produces the shriek that's unique to octave fuzz pedals, while also being easy to use as a standard fuzz pedal, while still delivering a truly authentic sound.
Not only can you revel in the psychedelic tones of the past, but this pedal also offers the flexibility to freely incorporate them into modern music to create new sounds.

The mini switch in the center allows you to turn the octave up on/off. Turning the octave off creates the distinctive tone of 70s silicon fuzz.

Turning the octave on releases a whole new level of madness from the pedal. In particular, if you select the front pickup and play a lead tone around the 12th fret with the tone turned down, you'll hear a scream with an intense octave up.

The tone itself is stable, and it also has the texture of a classic fuzz, making this an octave fuzz pedal you can use with confidence on stage.

In October 2019, Foxes announced the release of the Dreamy Fuzz. The pedal features a true bypass footswitch and can be powered by a 9V battery or a standard center-negative DC9V adapter.
