<> A vast, wild, open sound.
The story behind the creation of Crotonin is quite mysterious; in fact, this pedal was born from a rejected circuit diagram, making it something of a sibling to Serotonin.
Serotonin was developed with the goal of achieving a rich midrange and warm compression. However, several irregular prototypes were created during the development phase. For example, replacing the silicon diode used for clipping with an LED diode was just the beginning. A wide variety of circuit patterns were also created, including adjusting the tone circuit, changing the op-amp gain, and selecting different components. One of these is the Kurotonin.
By using a highly responsive op-amp with LED clipping, the pedal responds very openly to picking nuances. This open distortion was achieved by utilizing not only the LED but also the distortion of the op-amp itself, as well as the sonic changes of the coupling capacitor.
The ""world's blackest paint"" was used for the finish, achieving an even deeper black. Although the silkscreen printing and rust pattern are printed using a standard matte black paint, they do not blend in with the black paint of the housing, but rather stand out, creating a mysterious design.
Kurotonin is a pitch-black pedal with an open clipping point, the polar opposite of the standard Serotonin.

■DISCLAIMER
Specifications are subject to change without notice due to product improvements. Images are for illustrative purposes only. Please note that the paint finish varies slightly from one instrument to another. Scratches may appear on the metal plate due to manufacturing reasons, but please note that this is a natural part of the design. Touch noise occurs only when the metal knob is operated. We recommend grounding the strings (with your fingers touching the strings) when operating the knob.
