<> Vacuum tube-like overtones and saturation reproduced using analog circuits
The Fairfax isn't strictly a distortion pedal, unlike many of the gain and overdrive-infused devices you might associate with it. It's a 100% analog miniature amplifier, based on an obscure '60s piece of gear used in countless classic rock anthems.
Its sound and feel are remarkably tube-like, with unique, ingenious circuitry that emulates the crucial operation of a tube amp's output transformer, adding harmonics and saturation. It's a drive pedal that organically connects sounds while maintaining the guitar's original tone for a natural playing feel.
■Key Features
- 100% analog, perfect reproduction of a tube amp circuit
- Custom analog circuitry recreates multiple tube stages and key output transformers

- Equipped with drive, level, and variable sag controls
- Bright switch allows fine-tuning of high-frequency response
- Natural sound and a tube-amp-like gain range for versatile use
- Sag circuitry provides a mild sag effect at low settings and a spit or gated sound at maximum settings
- 9V DC power supply, center negative, minimum current 500mA
- Designed and built in the USA
■Controls
- DRIVE: Adjusts the preamp gain. In conjunction with the LEVEL control, you can precisely determine how you want to drive your amp. You can create a crunch sound, a clean boost, or anything in between.
- LEVEL: Sets the pedal's output level. Low settings will reduce the output signal to the amp, regardless of the settings of the other two knobs.
SAG: Allows you to fine-tune the behavior of the sag circuit. The amount of sag depends both on the level being sent to the power amp section and your playing style. This is a completely dynamic control, so light playing may result in very little change in sag/compression characteristics even at high settings. On the other hand, heavy playing with thick strings may increase noise even at lower pot settings.
BRIGHT: A two-position toggle switch that adjusts the high-frequency contours.
off: Turning the switch ""off"" will slightly attenuate high frequencies, smoothing the frequency response.
on: Set it ""on"" to leave high frequencies intact, resulting in a brighter response with more treble.
FOOTSWITCH: Turns the effect on/off.
