The Chinese Food Overdrive is a genuine, transparent overdrive pedal in a compact size.

It offers a low-gain crunch that's close to the original sound, as well as a clean boost with minimal gain change. The addition of a Japanese-made NOS clipping diode allows for a fuzzy distortion sound similar to that of the ProCo RAT.

Emphasis on a simple, organic sound has been deliberately omitted from the tone control knob, but a wide variety of sounds can be generated by switching the gain with the MODE switch.

■Transparent OD versatility: This single unit covers everything from a low-gain crunch that emphasizes the original sound, to a clean boost with minimal gain change, to a fuzzy distortion sound reminiscent of the ProCo RAT.

■Simple and versatile gain adjustment: While the design is organically oriented and eliminates the tone adjustment knob, the MODE switch allows for a wide range of expression, such as clean boost and clipping.
