The Glaive is a devastating op-amp octave fuzz pedal, boasting an incredibly wide gain range and a raging octave sound.

The fuzz sound, generated by internal 24V boost and +80dB op-amp boost, combines metallic, sharp highs with thumping lows. The high-pass filter placed before it flexibly changes the tone, allowing you to freely create a violent, lingering low end or a sharp, slicing attack.

The ultimate highlight is the analog octave circuit, which uses a full-wave rectifier. The generated sound, created by ""folding"" the waveform, reacts violently to your playing, sometimes producing unintended components, including octave down.

This pedal, which serves as the successor to the discontinued 0xEAE Fuzz, also adds two new features: an LPF (high cut) switch for increased versatility, and a Squelch switch for unleashing even more ferocity with a gated sound.

■ Unique distortion circuit and tone control method combine individuality and versatility
Glaive uses internal voltage boosting to ensure 24V of voltage and expand headroom. However, the op-amp exceeds this by a gain boost of +80dB (approximately 10,000 times) to generate distortion. A high-pass filter with resonance adjusts the sound character of the distortion.

By using the Gain and Weight sliders to control these, you can create anything from crisp distortion to oppressively oppressive fuzz. What's particularly noteworthy is that, despite the wide range of sounds possible, each one is unique. No matter the slider position, you can fully enjoy the unique character of the Glaive.

Note that high Gain settings produce a very noisy sound. There are no easy sounds in this range. It seeks, embraces, and guides noise.

■ An octave fuzz sound like you've never experienced before
Glaive uses a full-wave rectifier, an analog circuit that generates pseudo-octave components by ""folding"" the lower half of the waveform. This is where the Glaive's crazy charm lies.

Playing a single note with the neck pickup around the 12th fret produces a relatively straightforward upper octave, but as soon as you hit a fifth on a power chord, a down octave suddenly emerges. Playing tension chords produces a wild, chaotic sound, and unison choking lets you experience the writhing bass.

The Texture, Gain, and Weight controls of this analog octave circuit are closely interrelated. Increasing both Weight and Texture creates a heavy, oppressive sound that hits you in the stomach. Turning down the Gain and Weight from there produces a sharp sound like a broken sitar.

This combination allows the Glaive to deliver a fuzz sound never before heard in the modern era.

Two toggle switches expand the possibilities of the Glaive
As the successor to the 0xEAE Fuzz, which was discontinued in mid-2025, the Glaive inherits its distinctive fuzz and octave structure. Two new functions have been added to further expand its dangerous and destructive appeal.

The LPF toggle switch on the left controls a low-pass filter that cuts high frequencies. This allows you to adjust the filter to match the characteristics of subsequent pedals and amps, allowing you to ""optimize"" the Glaive's roaring sound in any setup.

The Squelch toggle switch on the right controls the gate. This adds an even more ferocious, space-shredding quality to the Glaive's octave fuzz sound.
